Hyperiums is a unique massively-multiplayer strategy game. The aim of the game is to extend the influence of your empire by conquering planets and developping their civilization level, so that Hyperiums recognizes you as the best Administrator.Hyperiums is a real-time game, which means the time goes by even when you are disconnected. When you start the game, you are given one planet to administer. Five days later, you get another one offered. It is now your job to manage your empire, set up trading relations with the other planets, develop your own planets, research technologies, build factories and fleets, raise armies, spy and/or communicate with your neighbours and find or create one or several alliances.
In Hyperiums, there are two ways to conquer a planet: a soft one, and a brutal one. The soft way is by progressively infiltrating the target planet, until it falls under your control. The brutal way is by sending war ships and dropping your armies to the ground.Four government systems are available:
- The Hyperiums Protectorate offers the protection of the Hyperiums Empire, which means that Hyperiums armies are teleported to your planet as soon as it is attacked. In compensation, the protected planet is not allowed to build war ships, and it suffers higher costs in general.
The protectorate status never expires, except if you leave it by yourself, which can be done at any time; this decision is irreversible.
- The Democratic system is efficient for both trading and planet development.
- The Authoritarian system is a mix of the democratic and dictatorial systems.
- The Dictatorial system offers "aggressive" features, like faster ship building and the possibility to preempt exploitations owned by foreign investors; its drawback is a slower planet development.
