Twilight Heroes

Twilight Heroes Twilight Heroes is a free, browser-based superhero role-playing game.By day you're an underpaid and unappreciated worker at a pain-in-the-neck job, but as the sun goes down you don a mask and a cape and patrol the streets in an attempt to clean up the crime-riddled and corrupt city you live in.Along the way you develop super powers, such as amazing strength, mastery of the elements, or the ability to manipulate things with your mind. As you grow in power you acquire more skills and items, and face an increasingly challenging series of goals, quests, and super-villains.The city of Twilight sits like a jewel in the desert. On the surface it is a vibrant metropolis, a shining sprawl in the wilderness, a bastion of wealth and power.

Heroes start out with at least one skill, and gain more as they advance in levels. Skills come in different types: passive, combat, noncombat, and buff. When you're in a fight, you've basically got four different choices: attack with your weapon, use a skill, use an item, or run away. In most cases, you and your opponent keep alternating turns until either one of you has been beaten up, or you successfully run away. Assuming you've won the fight, you'll earn experience points (XP) and possibly get valuable chips and items. When you attack, you get to choose between one of three different types of assault: fierce, moderate, and tentative. The defender is played by the computer, but will use player preferences. For every attack, there is a defense, which can also use one of three tactics: block, parry, and dodge. Like the rock-paper-scissors game, different attacks work better or worse against different defenses. Once you have attacked, the computer then counter-attacks on behalf of the player you're fighting against, using the same sets of choices. If you win a fight, you'll gain rank. It tends to average around 5 points for a win, but other factors influence this, such as the equipment you wear, the difference in rank between you and your opponent, and the margin of victory.
